Audrey Hepburn said ‘to plant a garden is to have hope in tomorrow’
The Blomst collection was inspired by my obsession with all thing’s flowers and gardening and my desire to create a cohesive relaxing space in my own back garden, but it took me a long time to realise I was planting for ‘tomorrow’ not today!
The poppy is well known for symbolizing remembrance and the hope of a peaceful future. But it also symbolizes renewal, regeneration and eternal life. I loved the idea of creating a ‘field of poppies’ necklace and looked at the different stages in a poppy’s life cycle to achieve this feel.
Each pendant is hand cut ‘free hand’ by myself, from 1cm thick recycled sterling silver using a jeweler's piercing saw, so no two pendants are identical.
The pendant measures 2cmindiameter and hangs from a sterling silver chain that can be worn at 18 or 20 inches long.
The poppy pendant is hallmarked at the Sheffield Assay Office, and bears my unique makers mark alongside the mark for the year it was hallmarked.
